Get The Black Mind Right

LaTonya Simms

In February which is black history month I'm in the process of honoring Marvin Gaye, The Negro baseball league and Betty Shabazz with three original short plays. They are Wholy, Holy, Holy, Grand Slam and love and Loyalty. Original shorts that touches on things that effects the black individual and the black community every day. The plays were written by Larry "Syid" Wright with original music by Devaron Benjamin, Larry "Syid" Wright and Roslyn Kristina. Wholy,Holy,Holy was written based on how I perceived every song from the  album "What's Going On" and how it spoke to us as individuals and spoke for us as black Americans. Grand Slam is about choices, about honor and commitment. Love and loyalty is about a woman gaining her Independence. All three plays will be directed By women.
